Biography

James was called to the Bar in May 2025. He has experience as a solicitor in both criminal law and commercial litigation and accepts briefs in all areas of law.

Immediately before coming to the Bar, James was an Associate at Allens. Previous to that, he practised criminal law at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (NSW) and at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (Qld). James has also taught Foundations of Law, Contracts and Torts at the University of Sydney.

Prior to commencing legal practice, James studied at UNSW and subsequently at the University of Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship. He also worked as tipstaff to the Hon. Ronald Sackville AO KC at the New South Wales Court of Appeal.
