Biography

Jill appears in a range of public law, criminal law and regulatory matters, including in the High Court and Federal Court of Australia and the NSW Court of Appeal, Court of Criminal Appeal, Supreme Court, Land and Environment Court, District Court, Local Court and Coroners Court.

Jill’s prior experience includes working as Counsel Assisting the NSW Solicitor General and Crown Advocate, during which time she appeared in significant cases for the State of NSW. She also worked as Special Counsel of the Criminal Law and Inquiries Teams at the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office (CSO); A/Assistant Crown Solicitor, a Senior Solicitor and a Solicitor in the CSO Criminal, Constitutional and Administrative Law Teams respectively; a Principal Legal Officer at the Commonwealth Department of Health; a Legal Adviser to the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions; a Solicitor at the Australian Government Solicitor; and an Associate to Wilcox J of the Federal Court of Australia.

Jill acts for a range of private companies and individuals, as well as Commonwealth and State ministers, departments and agencies.
