Biography

Nicholas was called to the Bar in May 2024. He accepts briefs in all areas of law, principally in commercial law, class actions, regulatory proceedings, competition, insolvency and insurance.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Nicholas was Of Counsel in the Sydney office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, specialising in complex commercial litigation, class actions, insolvency and insurance. In 2011, he was the tipstaff to Justice Hall of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Nicholas holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Oxford, a Master of Laws from the Harvard Law School, and a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts-Psychology from Macquarie University. He is the author of Statistics in the Law of Evidence (Hart, forthcoming 2024). He is currently an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Sydney Law School where he lectures in Anti-Corruption Law.
