Nicolas Franco

Nico was called to the Bar in September 2025. He has a commercial litigation practice and accepts briefs in all areas of law. In addition to his practice, Nico teaches Ethics at the University of Technology Sydney.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Nico was an Associate to the Hon Nye Perram of the Federal Court of Australia and a Senior Associate at Herbert Smith Freehills, where he focused on class actions. He also previously practiced in the United States for five years, including as a commercial litigator at a global law firm, an associate to a federal judge (the Hon Gonzalo Curiel of the Southern District of California), and a public defender.

Nico holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Dean John Sexton Graduation Prize among other honours, and a bachelor’s degree in literature from the University of Chicago. Prior to his studies at NYU Law, Nico worked as a management consultant at Deloitte.
