The Hon Robertson Wright SC

The Honourable Robertson Wright SC was a judge of the Common Law Division of the Supreme Court of New South Wales from 2013 to 2026. For the first five years he was also the Inaugural President of the Civil and Administrative Tribunal of New South Wales. Subsequently, he sat in both civil and criminal matters at first instance in the Division as well as sitting regularly in the Court of Criminal Appeal and, on occasion, in the Court of Appeal. From 2023 to 2025, he was also a Member of the Defence Force Discipline Appeal Tribunal.

Prior to his appointment as a Judge in 2013, Mr Wright was for six years a Judicial Member of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal of New South Wales dealing with Professional Discipline and Anti-Discrimination matters and practised as Senior Counsel for 12 years principally in competition, consumer protection and corporate commercial matters as well as gas and electricity price arbitrations. In addition to practising at the junior bar, he lectured in Practice and Procedure and tutored in Equity and Torts, at the Sydney University Law School.
