Gregory Sirtes SC is appointed to Supreme Court of NSW

12 Wentworth Selborne Chambers is delighted to congratulate its senior member, Gregory Sirtes S.C., on his appointment as a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. Greg will be sworn in on 5 February 2026 and will sit in the Common Law Division.

 

Greg has been a valued member of Chambers since he was called to the Bar in 1992. He took Silk in 2008, and was Head of Chambers from 2014 to 2016. Greg has enjoyed a broad commercial trial and appellate practice at the Bar, and since 2019 has served as a Judge Advocate and Defence Force Magistrate in the ADF, holding the rank of Commander in the Royal Australian Navy.

 

The Attorney General, the Hon Michael Daley MP, said that Greg’s appointment was a testament to his “skill, professionalism and commitment to serving the people of New South Wales”.

 

12 Wentworth Selborne Chambers welcomes Greg’s elevation with pride, and thanks him for his immense contribution to the Floor over three decades.
